Hi Pascale,

I'm excited to participate in this new cooking adventure with you. The Prologue is an enchanting blend of vividly written personal narrative and enticing recipes. I'm giving holiday gift subscriptions to several of my cooking friends. We often cook together and are planning to cook your monthly recipes together as well. What a treat!

Thank you Pascale, for sharing your memories of the firestorm and debris flow as we approach the 5th anniversary. It brought back so many memories of love and loss and people coming together during a difficult time. The impact on people's lives and businesses was deeply felt, especially since the debris flow was followed by the Covid epidemic little more than a year later. During these past 5 years you have reinvented yourself and your business multiple times, always rising to the challenge, always creating something of quality and heart. As a subscriber to your newest venture, 9x12, I'm very excited to see what comes next!

Thank you Margo! It's hard to believe that we're coming up on the 5 year anniversary as so much has happened since then. This project is the result of that time. I look forward sharing the story with you.

Well done, Pascale!! With your words, I felt again the weariness of the smoke-filled sky for all those weeks, the fear and exhaustion, especially after the fire travelled 12 miles in one night. And then the devastation of the debris flow!! But we all survived. I am so glad you had friends and family to support you and to cook for and eat with in those first awful days. I hadn't remembered that I took my first class at your house just after you moved! It was so fun and delicious. All in your 9x12 kitchen which is amazing!! You changed the way I cook and the recipes I search out. I love your books!! Wish I were there to go to the Farmer's Market with you and then go cook. This is a great new adventure and I'm so glad you are starting the Friday podcasts again. I've missed the Tuesday podcasts. Wishing you a good week of rest and much fun as you begin 2023 and these new ventures.

Well, Pascale, I knew you could write rings around most of us, but what we have here is a brilliant recipe for interactive collaboration. So intriguing. I finally worked out how to have your YouTube selection playing in the background while I read the prologue and it was as if I was right there beside you in Santa Barbara cooking up a storm. Bravo ma fille!

Sharon, I am so very touched by your comments, and so pleased that you like my work. Thank you! So many people have had a difficult time since the fires. The long term effect on the community as a whole has been profound and the impact long lasting. I strongly believe one has to move forward as the past cannot be undone. We have to learn from it and adapt, even if adapting is hard and challenging. I think that writing about food, creating dishes, teaching and coming together around the table has been grounding and healing. That is very much part of this story.
